I am the one who puts importance on "not feeling stupid", etc. That's me. It's a distortion. "Feeling" one way or another about what you think people are thinking, is a huge energy drain. Stop doing it, please.

Feelings are things and one should be careful about having feelings about feelings. That's an infinite recurse.
