I mean, it's become a proxy for political affiliation. Is it "yaaay masks!" or is it "booo masks!" ...? Is one really better than the other? Are we really looking and thinking closely at the scale of the problem and fairly judging the size of the stick that should be used?

I like to think at least I will be among the first few to stop wearing a mask at all times in public no matter how absurd the circumstances (at opposite ends of a football field? may I now remove my mask, sir?)

I don't want to have to compare it to arm bands, that would be inappropriate. Maybe phase them out before it comes to that?
