I can remember many, many times in my idyllic childhood where a certain person would shout, nay, scream at me for having the "wrong" thing come out of my mouth when I just was relying on instinct and saying what I thought. And it came without warning. Peaceful chitter chatter one minute about the weather and oh look some cows and then. POW! A great big, emotional sucker punch. Right to the emotional spleen.
