Which is a mode some of us (I) can get into. I think over the years I've been calling this "system 1", as in "just go with your gut".

Imagine if I've been confusing fight-flight with casual-instinct my whole life, or alt least calling them by the wrong name.

I feel like my instinct has been replaced by my frightened inner lizard (for some reason). I mean, you know, not always.

• I have caught myself recently feeling angry with myself for leaning into whatever cud pops into my Amy (that's a good thing).
• Stroking one's ego, seeing one's self as an actor receiving praise for loading the dishwasher like a boss ...those are bad. Knowing is probably 9/10's the battle in this case, which is also good.
• Sometimes something in my amygdala darkens the doorway and has a belt in his hand.
